Curious about what goes on in our brewery? Brewmaster Chris and his wife Jeanine gladly open the doors of their Brouwershuys.

During a unique guided tour of the brewery, you will discover how we continue to brew without compromising on flavour.

Brewmaster Chris will explain the superpowers of Bavik Super Pils in great detail and demonstrate the maturation in oak vats or 'foeders' that gives Petrus its unique flavour.

What is included in the tour?

A visit to the brewery takes about 1h 30min and includes:

  • a warm welcome by brewmaster Chris and his wife Jeanine
  • an introductory movie and guided tour of the brewery and impressive bottling plant
  • two beer tastings

After the guided tour, beer lovers can blend their own Petrus beer (€5 pp extra). Gourmets can enjoy a delicious meal at the Brouwershuys (€20 pp extra).

Practical information

Minimum number of participants

Visits are possible for groups of 20 to 40 people.

When?

Open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The tour starts at 10.30 am and 2.30 pm. What if the group is too small? Individual visitors or groups of less than 20 people can join another group on Wednesdays at 2.30 pm upon reservation.

Admission fee

The price of a visit to the brewery is €15 per person (incl. two beer tastings). (*)

The following activities can also be booked for groups:

  • Petrus Sour Blending. Become a brewmaster and create your personal Petrus Sour blend: €5 per person.

Frequently asked questions

In what languages is the tour spoken?

Chris provides the guided tour in Dutch, French or English.

How long does the tour take?

The tour takes about 1h 30min. The Petrus Sour Blending session takes about 45 minutes.

What does the tour include?

You can only visit De Brabandere Brewery on a guided tour with brewmaster Chris. Together with his wife Jeanine, he will welcome you to the brewery, where an introductory video will explain its history and values. Then Chris will take you on an exploratory tour of the brewery where you will discover the brewing and fermentation hall, the bottling plant and the large vats or 'foeders'. The visit is concluded with two tastings of our delicious beers. Want to take a unique souvenir home? Then browse through our shop before you get back into your car.

Is the brewery open to visitors throughout the day?

Our brewery cannot be visited freely. Visits for groups of at least 20 people are only possible with brewmaster Chris on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10.30 am and 2.30 pm. On Wednesday afternoon, individual visitors and smaller groups can join the tour.

Is the brewery accessible to people with reduced mobility?

The brewery is not accessible to people with reduced mobility as visitors need to climb a lot of stairs.

What does a blending session consist of?

The Petrus Sour blending session is an additional activity for groups (to be booked in advance). During this session, brewmaster Chris will explain the complex brewing process, and afterwards you can experiment yourself. The session will enable you to become a master brewer and blend your personal Petrus Sour beer.

What parking facilities are available?

There is a car park next to Brouwerhuys with space for passenger vehicles and buses.
